The first storm of the season left over 40 “ of snow at Northstar,
and there’;s more terrain open now than ever! There’s
impressive terrain on Jibboom and Axe, including 8 to 10 jibs and
5 hits. Not to mention the 20 plus trails for free riding and skiing
pleasure. Resorts throughout the Tahoe Basin and Truckee received
as much as four feet of snow at higher elevations. It’s a great
start for die-hard powder buffs who can’t wait to attack the
verticals. Northstar-at-Tahoe and Homewood Mountain Resort are both
open, and Diamond Peak anticipates having lifts running by Dec. 12th.
Cross-country skiers will have a blast at Royal Gorge where nearly
100 kilometers of open trails opened. The popular Learn to Ski Weekend
is Dec. 7 and 8 at Alpine Meadows, Squaw Valley, Sugar Bowl, Homewood,
Northstar, Mt. Rose, Diamond Peak, and Boreal. Novice skiers and snowboarders
can get all-day beginner lift tickets, lessons and gear rental for
great prices. Let our Ski Lake Tahoe team do all the paperwork for
you. Extreme skiers will find the ride of their challenge level as
well. So turn the scheduling over to us. There’s something for
everyone, and the intermediate and expert skiers know their beginner

for more kicks are here. Northstar has mid-mountain fun at Gravity
Garage, including Snowfoxes, Snowscoots, and their new K-2 Snowbike.
Snowscoots give a BMX-trick like ride for those who play in the halfpipe
for a little air. It’s basically a cross between a scooter and
a snowboard. These snowbikes have been used in Europe for 50 years.
Tubing in Squaw Valley’s High Camp requires no special skills
or equipment, with wide-open boulevards of sliding terrain with rolls,
banks, and berms, plus slow lanes for less adventurous tubers.
